My Fashion Passion: Rita Jalloh Featured

Meet Rita Jalloh, up and coming fashion designer with Sierra Leonean roots. Her handmade work is a sight to behold!

Her name is Rita Jalloh. She hails from Sierra Leone and calls her fashion brand Thamani Afrique. "I'm a creative mind with multiple talents. I really love creative work. I started designing at a pretty young age. My mother gave me my first my first sewing machine in grade 3 because she noticed it too. Creativity is my passion."

The boldest thing about Rita Jalloh is that all her work is designed and handmade by her. On her Facebook page you will find a wide range of creations - from jewelry, shoes, tops, skirts and dresses, to home decor. She can also be seen enjoying some cute moments of achievement with her daughter. She is also made for the camera. She models her work, always cutting a fierce look to bring her latest work to life. "I'm all about inspiring other creative minds to follow their passion. I don't believe in wasting such talent."

I asked Rita what makes her proudest. "My proudest moment is when other creative minds - especially the young ones - reach out and let me know that I inspired them to follow their dreams. Nothing is greater than that moment since lots of youths these day barely have anyone to look up to."

She's been featured in Zen Magazine and Swit Salone. Watch out for Rita Jalloh. She's strong, talented and inspired!
